终于认清了一些事实。。。

虽然说付出不因该期望得到回报，但总是会问自己值得吗？

抚心自问当有事情发生时，自己往往是第一时间站出来的。虽然不是每一次都帮得上忙，但我也问心无愧啊！

难到我只能共患难吗？

由这一刻开始，我必须告诉我自己：对自己好一点！

Windows Live Messenger has stopped working

Have you ever encounter the following problem?

When you start Windows Live Messenger (WLM), an error pops up saying something like Windows Live Messenger has stopped working and windows is trying to find a solution.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling WLM, restoring my system and a few other methods but all to no vail.

After googling for a while, finally i found a solution that works like a charm!

1. Click RUN from START menu and type REGEDIT
2. Follow the path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/MSNMessenger/PerPassportSettings.
3. Under PerPassportSettings, delete all the subfolders in it.
4. Restart Messenger.

* I believe the above problem occurs after signing in to Messenger from more than 1 location. In my case, i forgot to logout from ebuddy while i signed in to my WLM.

Chiffon Cake

Finally...a chiffon cake that looks like a chiffon cake!

Please forgive me for the ugly background, I was too overjoyed when I unmolded it. I even shouted for my mom to have a look on it. LoL...

My previous attempts on chiffon cakes failed big time, all sank like the Titanic or lopsided even when they were still in the oven. Anyway, there is still room for improvements for this one, its texture is a bit damp....but hey, it still looks and tastes like a chiffon!! =P

Anniversary

Today marks the 1 year anniversary of a very memorable moment of my life.

Last year this day, I started my 6-months so called dream chasing journey to New Zealand. A lot of people were shocked by my decision, even my own family members. I received lots of wishes as well as some 'cold water'. Anyhow...Heck, I made it!

Memories keep refreshing themselves in my mind...

We will be living 5 hours apart when we wake up...She will feel the day and see the dark before me. I am wondering how is she doing alone now in the airplane, does she manage to get some sleep?

I hope she will be doing fine soon, even though it is very hard for her to stay far away from her family and friends here.

Be strong, bud! I am sure the time will come where you can do whatever you wish to...Cheer up, ok?

Anti Social Shell

I was hiding in my anti social shell for quite a while...I even shooed away people that came knocked on my shell. I needed time to be alone; I needed time to figure things out...

I am slowly walking out of the shell, but at the same time I discover I actually missed out a lot...I did not know a good friend of mine is having health problem, I did not know the father of an old friend of mine had undergone operation, I did not know the mother of another friend of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer......

I am feeling very bad right now. Where was I when they might need someone to talk to? IN THE SHELL!?

Time to rewind and recharge?

I just came back from my South Island trip yesterday...I need time to rewind and recharge before proceeding to post some new entries here.

When I was travelling around, I met a Maori driver and he said New Zealand has so many round abouts because they are for tourists to rewind themselves. After I have a deep thought, I realise it must be a good idea to rewind myself by going round the round abouts! =)

An Encounter

I happened to bump into a lady when I was in the bus on my way back from Wellington after spending my Easter weekend there. We clicked pretty well and we actually had quite a long chat.

She is 62 years old, and guesses what?! She is a programmer in a software house! Yes! A PROGRAMMER! You did not get me wrong! Frankly speaking, I did not expect that. Not at all! Well, I really did not expect to talk about ‘frame work’ instead of ‘house work’, and ‘reporting’ instead of ‘housekeeping’ with a granny.

She told me she was being redundant a few years back, then she took up a programming course in one of University for a year and she got her current job thereafter. I am really impressed by her experiences and her passions towards life. The saying ‘learning is a life long journey’ is so correct!

Kiwi Oh Kiwi

It has been such a while since I updated my blog. Well, what am I up to? I am now in Bay of Plenty, working as a grader in a kiwi pack house. The life here is so much different compared to the life I had in Hastings – well, what should we expect in a backpacker? People from different countries; speaking different languages; living different lifestyles. I specifically enjoyed the time when everyone were busy preparing dinner in the kitchen. The kitchen was like a United Nation, with people of different skin colors; trying their very best to cook their own meals. I have to admit that I actually picked up my tiny little passion on cooking here. I am sure my mom will be very delighted to see her lazy daughter cooking. I bet she will.

I am lucky enough as I am now home staying with a kiwi couple, and by so, I get to know how kiwis live their lives. The home stay I am now in is indeed a very nice and comfortable place; it gives me the feeling as if I am in a house in one of those fairy tales. The house is surrounded by flowers and trees; it has a small vegetables farm and not to forget a little house for the chooks.

We have breakfast together every morning, go for groceries shopping every Sunday, cooking nice meals on the weekends. After spending a few weeks here, I realize life actually can be as simple as that!

I do not know why I feel very tired today…I thought I am getting use to the pain on my back and shoulder, apparently I am not. This is the third week I am working in an apple pack house in Hastings. I never thought of being an apple packer can be that tough. Maybe I was too spoilt when I was a web developer. All I did was just sitting in front of a computer and typing on the keyboard. Now, I have to stand whole day arranging apples… Royal Galas, NZ beauties… I think this will be the time where I eat and touch the most apples in my life…
