More Tactful...

I dont assume. I work on facts...This is the reply i have got from a colleague of mine (R) from P. He felt insulted by an email that I have sent to him. This is how the story begins...

Early in the morning, I received an email from a colleague (A) saying there is some problem with a membership numbering and the member has difficulty registering into our website. After checking the database and discussing the issue, I sent an email to (A) and (R). In my email, i informed (A) of the correct number and asked (R) to have the card replaced with the correct number for that particular member. At the same time, I also informed (R) if he is not sure about the membership number, please check from the system instead of simply assuming the number.

In return, he sent a bunch of emails to me and those big guys in the company. In the emails, he wrote a lot and the only sentence that I can still remember vividly is the one he asked me to be a bit more tactful in saying things as my previous email is insulting......

I might not realise how harsh the words 'simply assuming' can be before this...But after this incident, I will definitely be more careful in saying things. Lastly, I would like to convey my sincere apologies to (R) for insulting his feelings.....

I found Sam!

Finally I found 'I AM SAM' dvd in Speedy Video, midvalley last Saturday...To my disappoinment, it is priced at RM 49.90! Really a BIG BUY...I guess I have to try my luck in other places...

Customer Service

I went to Midvalley last Saturday, spending almost half a day there. Window shopping, lazying around and...and of course buying something nice for myself.

Before leaving, I went to Carrefour to do some grocery shopping. I bought a few cups of yogurts, some snacks and two packs of Quaker oats for my uncle.

When I was paying at the counter, I noticed the Point of Sales machine displayed RM 11.39 for the Quaker Oats. I notified the cashier that it was displayed as RM 9.99 at the rack. After all the checking done, the cashier asked me to have my money refunded at the information counter.

I was a bit frustated at first as I need to carry two packs of oats that weighted 1.2kg each, 6 cups of yogurts and some other things and walked all the way to the information counter...

When i reached the information counter, I passed my receipt and a price tag (which was given by the cashier) to the officer on duty. In less than 5 minutes, i got my money refunded and to my suprise, they even gave me extra RM 9.99 (ie an extra pack of oat) as a note of apology.

Dog, Don't SHIT here...

I came across this very funny picture and was wondering will there be any dog that is smart enough to be able to read this…

What's the point?

What's the point of feeling sorry after saying something harsh and making someone looked stupid?

I felt the quake...

Earthquake hits Indonesia again...and the massive earthquake sent shudders to several parts of Malaysia.

I felt the tremor this morning when I reached office at about 7.45 am. I can feel my body was swaying. A few of my colleagues dashed downstairs for their lifes.

Being blur and hungry enough, I still stayed in the office continue eating my nasi lemak...Stupid me! Dare my life for a pack of nasi lemak!!

I am so dumb???

Yesterday when I was on my way home, i turned on the radio listening to one of the chinese station. Report on the traffic conditions was on air that time.

"The traffic in Jalan xxx is slow moving now due to a car break down, that particular car had been pulled to the emergency lane. However, the road is still congested......You are so smart, you must know what is happening....".

My first reaction was like "huh? I beg your pardon??? What do you mean by YOU ARE SO SMART, YOU MUST KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING???".

Am I being so dumb as I do not know what is happening?! I really can't see a relation here...car break down, car being pulled to the emergency lane, road still congested and being smart to know what is happening....

I ended up puking blood all the way home...

Mizuno wave run 2007

I took part in the above said event with a few colleagues of mine. It was organised by Pacesetters Athletic Club, Malaysia (PACM) and was held at Padang Merbuk, Kuala Lumpur on 9th September 2007.

I managed to complete the whole run of 10 km in 1 hour and 30 minutes (even though it is not something to be proud of...as the qualifying time is 1 hour 40 minutes :P) and thus I was qualified for the finisher medal... =)

What's Your Blogging Personality?

I came across this test from a friend of mine. But what I can say is the result of this test is really doubtful...

I am unusual? impulsive? My blog entries are completely uncensored? The contents tend to shock? I certainly do not think so......

Your Blogging Type is Unique and Avant Garde
You're a bit ... unusual. And so is your blog. You're impulsive, and you'll often post the first thing that pops in your head.Completely uncensored, you blog tends to shock... even though that's not your intent. You tend to change your blog often, experimenting with new designs and content.

I locked myself up...

I have been working over time for the past few days, hoping to clear some of the tasks in my pending list. As we do not practice working late culture, my office will be nearly isolated after 6pm.

Yesterday night, I left the office around 8 pm. Before proceeding to the car park, i went to the wash room to ease myself. After washing my hand, I tried to unlock the door. But no matter how i turn the lock to the left or to the right, there was no signal of the door unlocking... I got so panic and keep twisting the lock..."Gosh...No way I'm going to spend my night in the toilet! This is the month of ghost!". Chill started running down my spine...

Suddenly, I heard some noise outside. Yes! It was my colleagues passing by. They are on their way leaving the office. One of my colleague, the miss graphic designer may had noticed the sound of the lock twisting. She asked "Anybody inside??". I yelled "Thines, It's me...Help me! I can't open the door!". Being calm enough, she said "Cool down, you try to turn the lock to the left and lift the door a bit...". Following her instructions, I managed to release myself on the second attempts.

What a relief...

Last.fm

My cousin, Sinh recommended an extremely cool website to me today: http://www.last.fm/. It is actually a UK-based internet radio and music community website.
Last.fm uses a very unique music recommendation system known as "Audiosrcobbler", it builds a detailed profile of each user's musical taste by recording details of all the songs the user listens to, either on the streamed radio stations or on the user's own computer or even ipod. This information is then scrobbled/transferred to Last.fm's database via a plugin installed into the users' music player. Users can then create their custom radio stations and playlists from any of the audio tracks in Last.fm's music library.
User will just need to download and install the Last.fm software. Then, just enter an artist/tag to start listening to their personalised radio.
I like it very much because I can access to an unpredictable list of songs! Cool...

Crossing the BORDERS...

I just discovered a great way of searching information prior to going on any trip...

My buddies and I spent about 4 hours in Borders, Times Square today. We dominated a long table in the Starbucks Cafe which is situated within the premises which served pretty much like a conference table for us, ordered a few cups of coffee, turned on the laptop, and chose a stacks of travel guides from the racks and....started planning our trip to Cambodia!

We managed to get all the information that we want like visa applications, admission fees, maps, guest houses, places that we must visit during our trip and etc...from the travel guides books and websites...This made the planning process more joyful with all of us involved...We talked craps, laughed on some funny information that we got and, started imagining our trip....=) and it made me forgot how sick I was!!

Oh gosh...I am so looking forward to this trip...

I Am So Sick......

I am feeling so sick now......With my throat and head aching. I shouldn't have come to work today, I should be lying comfortably on my bed and wrapping myself with blanket!

I still need to crawl to Times Square later on to meet up a few pals to discuss our Cambodia Trip which will be just around the corner. I was the one who initiated this meet up and I was so excited last few days until to the extend I stayed up late at night searching info about Angkor Wat and Phnom Penh. But now, I am like a zombie...I think what will excite me at this moment is only a good rest......

7-Eleven

I just found out that not every 7-eleven operate twenty four seven. This picture was taken when I was on my way to the office and it was 7.40 am in the morning.

So I decided to do some "research" to fulfill my curiosities and the information I got from the Wikipedia are:

7-Eleven is an international franchisor, licensor, and operator of a chain of convenience stores. The company was founded in 1927 in Oak Cliff, Texas, USA, which is now part of Dallas, Texas, when an employee of Southland Ice Company started selling milk, eggs and bread from an ice dock. The original location was an improvised storefront at Southland Ice Company, an ice-manufacturing plant. Although small grocery stores and general merchandisers were present in the immediate area, the managers of the ice plant discovered that selling "convenience items" such as bread and milk was popular. Eventually, several locations would open up in the Dallas area. Initially, these stores were open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., hours unprecedented in their length, hence the name. The company began to use the 7-Eleven name in 1946.

Malaysian 7-Elevens are owned by Convenience Shopping Sdn. Bhd. (CSSB). Convenience Shopping Sdn Bhd (CCSB) was incorporated on 4 June 1984. CSSB is the pioneer of 24-hour convenience stores in Malaysia via its franchise of 7-Eleven stores in Malaysia.

Mashi Maro

After working out for almost 1 hour in the gym yesterday, I took my shower and dried my hair as usual. When I was about to leave the gym, suddenly a lady approached me and asked: "Excuse me, may I know where did you buy your T-shirt?", with her finger pointing on the T-shirt I was wearing. My first reaction was like "huh? Is that anything wrong?".

The lady may had noticed I was a bit shocked toward her aggressiveness, so she explained: "I'm a super fan of Mashi maro, and I like your T-shirt so much!"...

Yeah! I was wearing a white T-shirt with a huge Mashi Maro printed at the back. Sounds cute, huh??...Actually I don't fancy Mashi maro at all and whenever I wear this T-shirt, I will use my back pack to cover up the huge Mashi Maro at my back...

She continued to ask me a bunch of questions like: "How much did it cost?", "Do you mind to get one for me and I will pay you back?", "You like Mashi Maro as well?"......

From our short conversation, I knew that she is really a super fan of Mashi Maro and she has lots of Mashi Maro collectables. I felt so sorry to tell her that actually I got the T-shirt from Pasar Malam a few years back and I certainly do not think it is still being sold in the market. She was so disappointed...Being kind hearted enough, I offered to give her the one I was wearing if she did not mind since I only wore it less than 5 times. She was so happy and even wanted to pay me back but I refused...Since it was not something valuable.

I promised to pass the T-shirt to her on Monday after I have washed it...And she said she will give me a little present in return as a note of appreciation...

This T-shirt means nothing to me but it seems very meaningful to this lady, so I am more than happy to give it to her...=)

Is A MAD MAD world...

Scenario 1:
Time: around 1.45pm
Date: 28 June 2007
Venue: At a shop nearby Bukit Bintang

A Chinese auntie is cleaning the walkway in front of her shop, she even tie a string around to avoid the public from stepping on it. Suddenly, an Indian lady accidentally steps on the pavement. The Chinese auntie yells at her: "Oi, talak otak ka? Mau kasi orang marah ah? Bodoh betul!"

Morale of this scenario: Be careful when you are walking, especially when you are walking on people's five foot way. If not you will be ended up being yelled like hell...

Question: Why the Indian lady is being labelled as 'bodoh' and 'talak otak'? Isn't 'Buta' or 'talak mata' sound more proper in this case?

Scenario 2:
Time: xxx
Date: xxx
Venue: In a bicycle shop in a small town called Tapah

A Malay boy is checking out the bicycle stickers which are hang infront of the shop. Then he asks A Chinese lady who seems to start staring at him since he enters the shop: "Auntie, ini sticker berapa?" The Chinese lady answers: "Dua ringgit, mahu ka?". The Malay boy answers: "Tak mahu lah auntie, lain kali aje lah...". Fire starts burning in the Chinese auntie's eyes...and finally she shouts : "Lu makan manyak kenyang kah? Tak mau bili lagi mau tanya tanya!"

Morale of this scenario: Never ever fool around with the shop keepers. Else...You will be ended up being scolded like hell...

Question: Is the saying 'Customers are always right' still can be used nowadays?

What A Joke...

Conquering Bukit Tabur & Celebrating My Birthday In The Heaven

Just taken my shower and feeling a bit refreshed, even though my head and legs are aching...Today had been a memorable and meaningful day for me.

My friends and I had conquered Bukit Tabur!! We really had a hard time making our way up the rocky mountain, we even need to perform rock climbing as steep as 90 degrees. But I think all our hardworks paid off because the sceneries at the top are really awesome...

We even had the chance to celebrate my birthday along our way up. I was a bit shock when one of my friend took out a muffin and candles from his bag... It was so special to celebrate birthday in such a way, with everyone sweating... =)

We spent about 6 hours for the whole climb, 2 hours more than as expected. Maybe because we spent quite some times posing with my birthday muffin and talking craps... :P

We were so exhausted at the end of the climb...everyone was starving and dehydrated. I was thinking of an icey cola all the way down the hill...The first thing we did after we completed our climb was chilling ourselves out with icey cola and hundred plus. I do not know hundred plus can taste that great before this... :P

I am really proud of myself, I had proved my determination, the willingness to take up new challenges and the most importantly, sacrificing my sleeping hours on a non working Saturday =) ... I am sure my friends have the same feeling as I do...Even though we were so exhausted at the end.

After torturing ourselves mentally and physically for about 6 hours, we cleaned up ourselves and headed to the curve, the last stop for that day... =) . Ahem...the main purpose of the last stop was to celebrate my birthday...We met a few friends there and had our dinner at the Heaven cafe...A few of my buddies joined us for a drink thereafter...I was so touched to have my friends around, even though it was 2 days earlier to my birthday...I would like to express my sincere appreciation to those who took the trouble to celebrate my birthday for me...Thank you so much...

An Anonymous Call...

I got an anonymous call yesterday on my mobile, at first I thought it must be my sister calling from China. But When I answered it, it proved that I was wrong...It was LL calling all the way from UK..... I was very excited to hear her voice!

We talked non stop about her life over there and I was laughing profusely when she told me about her silly act that almost got her to appear in the media headlines over there :P . We had a great time talking and laughing...I am really glad that she is slowly adapting to the life over there.

She is kind enough to promise to send me postcards and she also offer to get me some novels from those second-hand book stores over there...So kind of her!!

I had a good night sleep after talking to her yesterday...=)

Daniel Wu & Seiko

The new endorser of Seiko in Asia- Daniel Wu

I possess a seiko chronograph watch which i wear very often and the comments I used to receive are: "How come you are wearing such a huge watch?", "Is this watch yours?", "How come you are wearing a man watch?"...etc and etc...
Despite all these negative comments, I still like this watch of mine so much. I am wearing it almost all the time either to work or when hanging out with friends.
I think the main reasons I like this watch so much is that I do not need to strain my eyes when peeping the time and...It makes my meaty hand looks smaller with it attached. =) . Are these reasons good enough? No? Ok, ok...I will make my confession: I admit that I am not lady-like enough... :P

Coffee Causes Migraine?

I am suffering from migraine again...Although it is not very severe, but it is really getting on my nerves!

My head was aching for the past few days. At first I thought maybe it is caused by my 4-months-old ear piercings and it really does scared the crap out of me...'Oh no, I had damaged my own nerves system by making a few holes on my ears...'. My 'cleverness' had led me to take out all my earings and yes, I was feeling ok for the last two days. So I was pretty sure that ear piercing was the culprit. But......

This morning when I was having my breakfast in my office's pantry, my colleague was making coffee and the aroma...was simply irresistible. So i decided to make myself a cup as well......And? After drinking the coffee, I ended up having a migraine again... So, what should I say? Ear piercing is innocent and the culprit is coffee? =) . As I also drank coffee for the past few days except for the two days when i was feeling ok.

I do not want to draw any conclusion easily this time. So, I have come out with a few possibilities:

1. Ear Piercing = Migraine
2. Coffee = Migraine
3. Coffee + Ear Piercing = Migraine
4. Coffee + Bread = Migraine
5. Coffee + Chewing Gum = Migraine
6. Coffee + Chewing Gum + Programming = Migraine
7. Coffee + Chewing Gum + Staring at the 17-inch monitor for a long time = Migraine
8. Coffee + A messy desktop = Migraine
9. Coffee + A lot of pending jobs = Migraine
.

S-A-L-I-V-A

According to The Free Dictionary, SALIVA is defined as the watery mixture of secretions from the salivary and oral mucous glands that lubricates chewed food, moistens the oral walls, and contains ptyalin.

I just found out the correct way to spell this word. All the while, I thought it should be spelled 'slyver' or 'sliver'...Stupid me!!!

If Monday = Blue, Then Friday = ?

Time flies...It is Friday again!

Plan to spend this weekend with two of my best friends in Melacca has been cancelled...Reason? The hotel that we intended to stay is fully booked. When I knew that we can't even get a room in that hotel, I was kinda shocked...Is Melacca that famous until people are making a bee-line there? Only then i discovered it is because of the school holidays.Sigh...At first we thought last minute booking will be fine as if the hotel is owned by our fathers...=) [The morale of this story: Never ever wait until the eleventh hour.]

Never mind then, we still have backup plan...Going for 'Shabu-shabu' on Saturday night, sounds great, doesn't it? ...This plan fails as well...Why? As one of my friend is going off to UK next week and she needs to go back to her hometown to get things settled as well as spend some quality time with her family and friends...

Still never mind then...I still have a second backup plan. My parents and brother are spending a couple of days in KL, so I am scratching my head now on where to bring them...I think mayb I should bring my mom for a shopping treat as she always complained to me on how she had to hurry herself when going for shopping with her husband(My dad)...=)

Hey mom, we can shop till we drop this weekend....=)
